Software`s modular composition considerably boosts reliability because all modules work as independent programs. If one part stops working, other components keep on running. For instance if the `capture` component freezes, `watchdog` restarts it immediately that users don`t notice anything because they are viewing picture via a `playback` module. The software performs `cyclic` recording that the `disk full` situation never appears. The recording can be constant or it can be triggered by motion, human face detection, or by timetable. The software has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty simple and performs on the surveillance workstation as well as on remote workstation through Web interface. The program performs simultaneous video playback for event analysis from many cameras at the same time. Also recorded information can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded data can be encrypted and password protected.
